(6) Spiral Sewed Flat Face Type, 8 Ply, 1/2" Face Width, 3/8" Spiral Sewed
For Heavy-Duty Cutting on Roll-Formed, Drawn, Stamped or Cast Metals
Type "FF" Sisal buffs are produced by laminating eight-ply (8) of bias-cut woven sisal together, mounting the assembly on steel center hubs and then spiral sewing with 3/8" gage spiral thread through the total thickness to make 1/2" wide compressed sections. When multiple sections are snugly mounted on the buffing lathe shaft, a flat face width is presented. This face can be shaped, through wear, or dressed to conform to the profile of the work piece.

(6) 12 Ply Bias Construction, Metal Centers, 1/2" Circle Sewed
Bias-Cut woven sisal fiber is sandwiched between layers of bias-cut cotton and sewed into a packet strip. Intended for those buffing operations that require a more aggressive cutting and leveling action than can be obtained with bias cotton buffs. Type "RS" open-face sisal/cloth buffs effectively remove or blend metal stretcher strains, ripples, score marks, light die and tool marks, and other surface imperfections from drawn, stamped, roll-formed ferrous metals as well as nonferrous metals. Flexibility is retained, allowing this buff to be particularly adaptable to buffing concave, contoured, recessed and drawn profile forms. The following list of articles regularly ...
